Plugin and theme updates are automatic?

By default auto-updates are disabled. But you can enabled them by following the steps here:

  • Go to your WordPress admin area
  • Click on Plugins » Installed Plugins
  • There you’ll see the list of all your installed plugins
  • Next to each plugin there is a button called Enable auto-updates
